Simulation exercise: Avian influenza in Peru-4

Dr Janios Miguel Quevedo Valle, Director General of Animal Health, National Agrarian Health Service (SENASA), Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation of Peru, informed the OIE that a regional field simulation exercise on avian influenza will take place in Peru from 14 to 16 May 2018, in the city of Lima.

The objective of this simulation exercise denominated “Simulation of emergency preparedness during an occurrence of avian influenza” is to strengthen management capacities of the adequate and efficient response of an emergency of avian influenza occurrence with a view to reducing the health and economic impacts that could arise from the virus introduction in Peru.

This simulation exercise is directed to professionals of the Public Service.
