This Atlas is intended to help veterinary students, veterinary field staff and pathologists involved in camel disease surveillance and diagnosis to identify common diseases of dromedary camels. This pictorial guide describes clinical signs and demonstrates, through a range of colour images, various post-mortem and histopathological lesions associated with 24 viral, bacterial, parasitic and fungal diseases, as well as some mineral deficiencies and toxicities.

Basic disease information is covered, including aetiology and host range, transmission, clinical signs, and the macroscopic appearance of pathological lesions, through to microscopic pathology and pathological diagnosis for each disease. Contributions for the Atlas come from the Abu Dhabi Food Control Authority (ADFCA) of the United Arab Emirates, veterinary pathologists and epidemiologists, and diagnostic experts from the OIE.
