Monitoring trade and sanitary measures
The World Trade Organization (WTO) Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures (SPS Agreement) defines the basic rules for the application of food safety and animal and plant health measures in international trade. The SPS Agreement recognises the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) as the reference organisation for international standards concerning animal health and zoonoses. Monitoring trade related notifications can bring valuable insights for both WOAH and Members.
