Simulation exercise: Foot and mouth disease in Brazil-9

Dr Guilherme Henrique Figueiredo Marques, Director of Department of Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Food Supply of Brazil, informed the OIE that a table-top and field simulation exercise on foot and mouth disease (FMD) will take place in Manaus, in the State of Amazonas, from 12 to 16 December 2016. Professionals from other States in the northern region of the country (Pará, Roraima and Amapá) will also participate in the exercise.

This simulation exercise is part of the continuous training process of the technicians of the States of Brazil to the FMD Contingency Plan as well as the compliance with the guidelines stated in the National Programme for the Eradication and Prevention of FMD.
