Responding to Substandard & Falsified Veterinary Products to curb AMR

Poor-quality and falsified veterinary medicines (SFVPs) compromise animal health, undermine treatment outcomes, and accelerate antimicrobial resistance. Their circulation poses a serious threat to public health, food security, and international trade. Because this challenge is global in nature, it demands coordinated action linking regulatory authorities, veterinary services, customs, and law enforcement. This document describes WOAH and Interpol’s initiative and strategy on preventing harm before it happens.
